Honesty is a key to making through F-1 Visa, its no rocket science!
• F-1 visa is a process every student has to go through when he or she has applied and got through any of the U.S universities. There is no need to be nervous or no need to make impressions with the Visa officer if you are going to be honest and you have good communication skills.
• Have your documents and papers in tact! You might have heard of stories where some people haven’t been asked to show the documents, but don’t take the risk! It doesn’t hurt to properly file them and carry them along with you!
• Never lie! When you are lying more than anything else you are underestimating the skills of the officer who is interviewing you. They have the inherent gift of finding out when you are bluffing or even hiding. It helps to be transparent and give them the appropriate answers. Remember, don’t elaborate too much either on the pretext of being totally candid.
• If you are not confident of your English language, you can hire a translator. But the sad truth is this might turn up to be your only disadvantage. They expect students to have a basic knowledge in English if not Shakespearean! So it is better to buck up on your English if you are not fluent!
• Clean shaven and fresh set of formal clothing might always help for men. Same for women, make sure you are presentable!
• There is nothing to cram and prepare over this, it is not an IAS exam! So be calm, composed, confident and most importantly honest!
